SAMSI uses this information to assess such factors as balance of senior and junior researchers, geographical distribution, and diversity, as well as suitability for the research content of the workshop. It is important to include women and members of underrepresented minorities (*marking them in some way is helpful). It is not necessary to have obtained prior commitments from proposed speakers, but we encourage you to approach potential speakers, provided you make clear that approval for the workshop has not yet been given and final invitations will only come later.
