The “microbiome” group studied and developed models and methods for effective analysis of microbiome data in the context of predicting health outcomes and inferring the underlying biological processes. Some problems to be investigated include modeling the latent structure in compositional data, integrating microbiome data with other “-omics” data, and modeling dynamics of microbiome data.
