will be covered in some depth. The workshop with a focus on Forensics will feature introductory lectures on mathematical and statistical methods in forensic science. Particular emphasis will be given to the understanding of mathematical methods to link various patterns (e.g., finger prints, tool marks, tire marks) obtained at crime scenes to evidence of crimes. Hands on illustrations will be presented and hence the participants are encouraged to bring their laptops. This workshop will be held on Monday, February 22, and Tuesday, February 23 at SAMSI.

Participants are urged to arrive on Sunday evening and will be able to begin their return home by 1:00PM on Tuesday. Applications received by Friday, January 8, 2015 will receive full consideration.

While students from universities not in the U.S. are welcome to apply, please be aware that priority is given to students who are enrolled at U.S. schools.

SAMSI will reimburse appropriate travel expenses as well as provide food and lodging.
