CCNS Spring 2016 Course: Mathematics of Neural Networks and Neural Codes

Course Description: This course will serve as an introduction to theoretical and mathematical neuroscience, with an emphasis on neural networks and neural codes.

Topics will include: the basics of neurobiology; neural networks (perceptrons, the Hopfield model, threshold-linear networks, bump attractor networks); neural codes (examples from cortex and hippocampus, combinatorial codes); synaptic plasticity and memory; and selected topics.
