New Researcher Fellowship Opportunities for 2008-09The Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (SAMSI) is soliciting applications from statistical and mathematical scientists for four New Researcher Fellowships, to begin September 2008 or January 2009. New Researchers should have received their Ph.D. within the previous 8 years. Members of under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.SAMSI New Researcher Fellows will participate in one or more of the year's research programs. Appointments will ideally be for one year, although appointments for one semester can be considered. The available salary is at most $20,000 so is ideal for sabbatical visitors with partial support from their home institutions. Interested individuals should contact fellows@samsi.info for more information. Formal applications will require a CV and letter (or e-mail) indicating the SAMSI research program in which participation is desired and describing the applicants interest in the area; be sure to include address (including e-mail) and telephone numbers. The deadline for full consideration is February 15, 2008. Later applications will be considered as resources permit. Appointments may be made at any time.
