Literature search for mathematical and statistical models for
FMD. Distribution of some FMD papers and other materials of interest.  Every member of the group was assigned some materials and  asked to prepare  a report about them.

An introduction to  Jackson Networks. Presentated by Michael Last. Based on the Chapter 2 of the 
book "Fundamentals of Queuing Networks" by Chen and Yao.  Discussions and planning of activities for the next semester were also addressed.

Michael Last will discuss about ideas/approaches for future work and what sort of data we want to work with. A couple of people from Dr. Carpenter's group FMD modeling at UC Davis may call in. Several papers from their group can be found here.

Jan      12,   2006 Presentation: "Intro to Stochastic Networks Models" by Grzegorz Rempala followed by discussions around the idea of applying Jackson networks to agricultural systems. The pdf version of the presentation can be found here.
Jan      19,   2006 Presentation: "Aggregated Model of a Food Production Chain" by Grzegorz Rempala followed by a Supply Networks Demo by Michael Last.  The two presentations together with the script Michael used for his simulations can be found here.
Jan      26,   2006 Presentation on SIR models by Alun Lloyd. If time permits, Hoan Nguyen and Sava Dediu will talk about sensitivity analysis for dynamical systems.

Feb       16,   2006 Anjela Govan will present the updated Aggregated Model of a Food Production Chain with SIR. Time permitting Sava Dediu and Hoan Nguyen will talk about the Sensitivity Analysis of the original Aggregated Model. Anjela's presentation can be found here.
