Hi all,

A great presentation today by Yajun. His slides are on our web page.
Coming up we have:

Deepak Agarwal - remote presentation on West and Harrison's Bayesian
Monitoring (I will serve as backup in case our connections fail)

Dave Dickey - time series tutorial and discussion of 2 datasets (pdf's
already on our web page) Target date - 2 weeks hence.

Bahjat Qaqish - discussion of the CHANCE article "Syndromic Surveillance -
is it Worth the Effort" (scanned version already up on our web page)

I am hoping Susie can talk on Bayesian change point and Bahjat on outlier
detection sometime in November. It would be great if all of our local
folks presented something. There are several references linked from our
website or you could talk about your own work. Let me know. Yajun showed
me a book Scan Statistics by Glaz, Naust, and Wallenstein (Springer) that
might be of interest. We are also hoping to get Wallenstien's upcoming
Statistics in Medicine paper, mentioned this a.m. by Howard.

Two more items (especially for our younger participants) - don't hesitate
to present something. We are a friendly audience and few if any of us are
experts on this! Also I am attaching a funding opportunity sent to me by
Sastry Pantula (head of our dept. at NCSU)
