Exoplanets Working Group

The SAMSI Exoplanets working group is composed of astrophysicists and statisticians who are interested in using statistics to improve the search for extra-solar planets. The focus is largely on detection by radial velocities (although the group is open to discussion of other detection methods, such as transit) and the statistical methods under discussion are primarily Bayesian.

Among the topics that the group plans to address during the Spring of 2006 are parameter estimation, model selection, and adaptive design.
